HOME

Carole and Bob Walker welcome you to their country home in the heart of Dorset where high standards, good value and a warm friendly welcome awaits.

Situated in the lovely small village the17th century Old Church Farm has been beautifully renovated but still retains many of its original features including a 16th century window with some of the original hand spun panes still in place. Wooden beams can be seen throughout the property, and a large inglenook fireplace which still has a Bressumer beam.

Many flagstone floors still exist, one contains an inlaid iron horse shoe which according to Saxon (7th century) superstition is said to keep the threshold safe from devils and witches.

One lovely feature is the existance of 18th century wooden wall panelling in the hallway.

The property was originally part of the estate belonging to the Tudor King Henry VIII, who subsequently sold the house and its lands to W. B. Talbott whose name is inscribed on wooden panelling in the attic room.
